The following administrative services are offered by the Black Diamond Police Department:

 

CONCEALED LICENSE PERMITS (CPLs)

The Black Diamond Police Department’s Records Section issues CPL’s to Black Diamond residents only.

At this time we are unable to process Original CPL applications due to the restrictions put in place by the King County Executive and Washington State Governor.
Fingerprinting services have been temporarily suspended.  If you are looking to renew your CPL, please see the directions below. Please be aware we will only be able to renew your CPL if it is less than 90 days expired.


If you are renewing your CPL, you may either e-mail your completed application to contactus@blackdiamondwa.gov or drop it off in our drop box located in front of the station at 25510 Lawson St Black Diamond, WA 98010. Please provide a copy of your current CPL when applying for your renewal. Methods of accepted payment: credit/debit card, check or money order. A renewal of your CPL is 90 days BEFORE your CPL actually expires. A late renewal is within 90 days AFTER your CPL expired. If your CPL has been expired for 90+ days, this will be considered an original CPL.

Fee schedule:
Original CPL fee: $49.25
Renewal fee: $32.00 (within 90 days BEFORE expiration)
Late Renewal fee: $42.00 (within 90 days AFTER expiration)
Replacement License: $10.00
Firearms Dealer License:$125.00
Alien Firearms License:  $74.25

FINGERPRINTING SERVICE

The Black Diamond Police Department’s Records Section provides fingerprinting services.  In order to comply with FBI regulations, all fingerprint cards will be mailed from the Black Diamond Police Department.  Citizens must provide the fingerprint card(s), which include a pre-printed ORI number, along with any other documents required to process their fingerprint submissions.  Citizens are also required to provide an addressed and postage paid envelope at the time the fingerprints are taken.

Fingerprinting fees are as follows:

  • Black Diamond residents: $10.00
  • Non-residents (employees): $15.00
  Fingerprinting services are available Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. by appointment only.

PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTS

If you would like to request a copy of a police report, or any other specific identifiable document, please fill out a Public Records Request form.  The form is available online by clicking here, or at the Black Diamond Police Department,

Fee Schedule:

  • Police Reports:  $.15 per page
  • Local Record Clearance Letter:  $15.00

All fees are pursuant to RCW 10.97.100, 42.56.070(7-8) & 42.56.120.  Depending on the volume of information requested, a deposit of up to 50% of the projected costs may be required.

CITIZEN FEEDBACK FORM

The Black Diamond Police Department exists to ensure professional and accountable law enforcement for our citizens. Honest feedback is essential to maintaining a police department that is both trustworthy and responsive to the community. Therefore, it is critical that truthfulness be maintained in the filing and investigation of complaints against the police.

Citizens who wish to file a commendation or complaint are not required to provide their name or contact information. However, follow up communication by the Police Department may not be possible if this information is not provided. To register a complaint or make an inquiry regarding 911 please click here for information.

The form is available online by clicking here, or at the Black Diamond Police Department.  The form can be mailed back to the Police Department, dropped off at the lobby, or emailed back as an attachment to ContactUs@police.ci.blackdiamond.wa.us.

CIVILIAN RIDER APPLICATION AND WAIVER
A civilian rider is any person not commissioned as a police officer who rides in a police vehicle for the purpose of observing patrol activities. It is the policy of the Department to allow civilian riders so that interested persons may better understand the police and their function. By applying for a civilian ride, you agree to allow the BDPD to run a personal Records and Wants Check, and a Criminal History Check. All applications must be approved by the Police Commander. Civilian riders must sign a Rider Waiver on the date of the ride, prior to riding in the patrol vehicle. Persons interested in participating as civilian riders must apply to the Department at least 72 hours prior to the time they desire to ride. The form is available online by clicking here.
